Lots of things are out of reach, really, always. But most of them? You never think about? But lots of the time--or often, at least--there is something that--what's that awesome expression--sticks in your gullet?
Right now, I have this one song stuck in my gullet. That can happen,
(more) right? And the only thing that can unstick it, I think, is another duet of it with my two-year-old neighbor, Simone. However, she's twelve now, so that's never going to happen. She's very done being my two-year-old neighbor. Aging certainly can put something out of reach--just out of reach, or maybe even farther out of reach than that. Can "just out of reach" include things that won't ever come back?
Simone the twelve-year-old might be persuaded to duet with me on "Shoo Fly." She's a great kid. And that might shake the damn song out of my gullet. Maybe Simone herself, rather than Simone at a certain age, is the important element.
I'll let you know how it goes.(less)
