what do you think of this poem?
im bored and short on time
and having a shitty time of life lately
so i dont really want to do any metaphors

and i have to delay getting a puppy
because my job doesnt pay me enough
fuck this shit, you know?
i need like
a margarita or something
or a bowl of like
really nice weed
anyway, what do you think
of this poem?

as my usual fare(less)
What's that Throwing Muses song called? "It's Not Too Soon." Not to be confused with the fabulous and often covered Tom Jones song, "It's Not Unusual." Which wasn't covered by the Throwing Muses, but was covered by Tanya Donelly, founding member of the Muses, later, by her band Belly.(more)
I loved the Belly cover of "It's Not Unusual," but that was before Lauryn Hill covered it. I wish I could say that everything Lauryn Hill does is golden, but really it's just everything she did up until "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," which is one of the best albums ever.
Back to "it's not as good." Since I got sidetracked by "it's not too soon," and "it's not unusual."
So yeah, what's not as good? Some people would argue that peanut butter is not as good as almond butter. I know almond butter is supposed to be better for me, but I like the taste of peanut butter better--maybe because I grew up on it.
June Carter isn't as good as Johnny Cash? That is a good way to start a fight. There's no "Ring of Fire" without June. She wrote it. Did you even know that?
Plaid isn't as good as stripes? That's silly. Everything in moderation, I'd say. Careful how you mix your patterns. But plaid and stripes both have important roles to play.(less)
