In field of dreams
plants of love
they look like roses
with seed of hopeless romance.
(more) I know her. She is hopelessly romantic, lovely creature needs proper cuddling and too much care ;) She expects and demands mostly obvious :P (less)
i look at the clock,
add and subtract time zones
then close my eyes tightly,
with all my might i try to time travel
back to when i didn't miss you
but that was an ice-age ago,
(more) before the great thaw,
textual memories lie within reach
i go back in time to saved midnight savings
when we talked each other through
the daily/nightly lonely
and a hastily drawn flower the color of my eyes
sent my way like it's no big deal made all the difference
i can make myself do anything, i know this,
even when i forgot, you pushed me through,
showed me my reflection like throwing down the gauntlet
a challenge i eagerly embraced
and you with the grace to give me the credit
even as you pushed me hard
it's silly really, the way i can feel your breath on my skin
through sheer willpower,
sillier still that a few weeks without your voice in my ear
can bring me to my knees if i let it
i can crawl into my cancer-shell and bury me like a hermit-crab
or i can talk to you whenever i want,
words on a page, written with care,
all those in-between-the-line words unedited,
just the way you like it
then hide them away chronologically
in a file labeled "letters never sent"(less)
The scrawny boy was pointing at a movie poster: "Cinephilia," starring an actor that neither of them knew. "That girl."
He was right. It wasn't a girl John knew though- that girl was grown. ...she was the director. And this other girl was playing her now as she had been all those years ago.
"The main guy too, actually."
"Well, I knew them. ...The real ones, that is," John shrugged. "This guy, Leo Creighton, see, he was a star of the silents and my acquaintance, Rosa, went out west to the studios and got into acting because she loved him so much."
"But now she makes movies? She made a movie and the two of them and how they met? ...It's romantic and stuff?" John seemed to know all sorts of people, so movies stars didn't stand out to Auburn as anything special.
"Rosa still acts. But, yeah, she directs too. I don't know about romance-romance though."
"Why? What happened to them? They don't still work together and stuff?"
"Leo loved movies more than anything else, but he was happy to have Rosa work with him. But they only got to know each other for a couple of years. He died young. She was only a teenager."
Auburn scrutinized the poster more carefully. Leo a young man and Rosa a little girl. "Written and Directed by Rosa Creighton." "But who is she then? And with the last name 'Creighton?'"
John shook his head- there wasn't much else to say about it. He resumed his walk along the pavement. "Rosa Creighton? Just another hopeless romantic."(less)
