I gave myself a mental pep talk
in the shower this morning
telling myself that I was beautiful
(and anyone who says different is dead to me)
that I was talented
(even though I don't ever tell anyone about this)
(more) that I am loved
(which takes some serious convincing when I can hear my parents yelling at each other through my loudest music)
that I am me
(and I'm perfectly fine with that)
and if anyone else says different
heads will roll (less)
Okay, okay, so summoning advanced creatures with a killer hangover - without supervision - just to get revenge on Jimmy for being absolutely dreadful to Adrienne last night is probably a bad idea upon reflection. Mostly because you have no idea what to do with the giant hairy beast(more) that appeared in the summoning circle.
Hopefully it has a kind, cuddly soul, despite its ferocious appearance. With luck, it'll only look terrifying, and - wow, that's, uh. That's a lot of sharp, gleaming teeth it got there, perfect for ripping something like you into a thousand tiny painful pieces. Whoops. Guess you better book it and make this someone else's problem.
Hopefully it'll come across Jimmy before it's sent back to its proper dimension.(less)
"I'm going to tell mum."
"No, you're not."
"I am. I am and I'm going to make sure she makes him pay for this for the rest of his existence."
"That's seems awfully excessive."
"No it doesn't."
"No!" Arthur threw his hands up and started pacing. Martin frowned at him. "I want him to pay for this! I want him to regret doing this to us!"
"To us or to you?" Martin cut across and Arthur glared at him. "I'm sorry to say this, but he's allowed to make mistakes."
"Even ones that could kill him?!"
"They'll only kill him if he doesn't learn from them!"
"At this rate dying will be the only way to ram it into his skull that it's killing him!"
"You did the same thing and telling your mum didn't help you!"
Arthur's eyes narrowed as he stared Martin down. Martin clenched his fists and tried to remember his breathing exercises.
"Shouldn't that mean he'd be better at realising this? Cause I already fucked everyone over doing it? Shouldn't that give me the fucking right to be mad because we've already been through this?!"
"You were different-"
"Because me being fucked up meant you could comfort me back to health?"
Martin gaped at him.
"I won't tell mum." Arthur grumbled as he walked out of the room. "But I'm not letting him off easy either."
Martin stayed silent. He didn't even flinch when the door slammed shut behind Arthur.(less)
