You know, I hate it when people divide the world into black or white. And yes I mean racially, but no I don’t just mean that. Sometimes I wish people could see that the labels they use-the categories they put things in- that’s part of the problem. This categorizing(more) we humans do…You’re either this or that. You’re either this kind of person or you’re that kind, and we all know what they say about THAT kind. It’s all very frustrating, and no matter the category, there is going to be an in-between. Every single group has an in-between- the things that don’t fit under either extreme and are found falling through the gap in the middle. It seems that in the beginning of it all, the gap was very small, so it wasn’t much of an issue. Only a few people could fit through. But over time that gap has gotten a lot wider and those gradients have expanded. But people are still referring to things as either black or white. This or that. Poor or rich. Good or bad. 0.5 should only round up in mathematics, and even that was a struggle to decide. I don’t know how anyone expects us to stop thinking in boxes if those very words are forming the walls around our minds. We’ve arranged ourselves in little rooms in bigger houses in certain neighborhoods in certain zones of certain ethnicities of certain languages and certain experiences. And then we get angry because one group cannot understand another, and the in-betweens keep falling.
